Norma (Schroeder) Wiemers, age 90, of Hondo passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, in San Antonio. She was born Sept. 6, 1918, in Needville, TX, the daughter of Theodore Henry and Helene Marie (Schulz) Schroeder. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wesley C. Wiemers; daughter, Betty Jeane Wiemers; and sons-in-law, William Grell, Travis Fowler and O. J. Steubing. She is survived by her daughters, Evelyn Grell Steubing of Hondo and Dorothy Ann Fowler of Biry; son, James Edward Wiemers and wife Diane of San Antonio; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Elvira Meier; and sisters-in-law, Minnie Buss and Helen Wiemers. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Quihi. Interment will be at Quihi Cemetery.
