Norman August "Sudsy" Lutz of D'Hanis, 69, passed peacefully on Saturday, Mar. 13, 2021, with family members by his side.

Born Sept. 27, 1951, in Hondo, he was the son of Arthur and Lillian Rudinger Lutz.

Sudsy was a well-known custom home builder and general contractor.

He was a wonderful, caring husband, father and grandfather and a friend to many. He enjoyed spending time with family and attending the grandchildren's school and sporting events.

He will be greatly missed in the local community. He was on the D'Hanis ISD school board, a member of D'Hanis Lions Club for 30 years, and a director of the Medina County Fair Association. He also announced D'Hanis home football games for more than 10 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his twin sister, Carmen Genevieve Strunk; twin brothers, Arthur Wayne and Albert; and brother, Kenneth.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judith "Judie" Russell Lutz; sons, Russell L. (Jessica) Dockery of Florida and Jacob A. (Melissa) Lutz of Quihi; grandchildren, Megan Hartmann, Royce and Gatlynn Lutz, Morgan and Caspian Dockery; brother, John (Sylvia) Lutz; sisters, Patsy (Steve) Myers and Shirlie Morales, all  of D'Hanis; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, Mar. 19, at Guinn-Horger Chapel, with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m.

Graveside service at 10 a.m. will be Saturday, Mar. 20, at Holy Cross Cemetery.  Bearers are Troy Langfeld, Joby Langfeld, Johnny Zinsmeyer, Kenny Rothe, Richard Rothe and Roddy McCauley.
