Olivia Henrietta (Salzman) Nester, age 87, of D'Hanis passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2008. She was born June 2, 1921, in LaCoste, the daughter of Henry and Alvina (Biediger) Salzman. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Cross Altar Society and Castro Colonies Heritage Association. Olivia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold Nester; daughters, Nancy Pohl and Mary Nester; brothers, Raymond Salzman, Milton Salzman, Clem Salzman and Wilfred Salzman; and sister, Viola Griffin. She is survived by daughters and their spouses, Linda and Aubrey Carter of D'Hanis, Emily and James Kuehne of Georgetown and Annette and Danny Vordenbaum of D'Hanis; sons and their spouses, Henry and Sherrill Nester of Hondo and David Nester of Jax Beach, FL; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Janie Stein of Rio Medina. Visitation will be Thursday, June 5, 5 to 8 p.m., at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel, Hondo. Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m., on Friday, June 6, followed by the Funeral Mass, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, D'Hanis, with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The pallbearers were Tim Carter, Michael Kuehne, Brad Pohl, Jason Nester, Mark Kuehne, Jeff Carter. The honorary pallbearers were Carter Sawyer, Jacob Carter, Dillon Sawyer.
