Oscar E. Carlson, age 92, of the SKP Park, D'Hanis/Hondo, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012, in Hondo. Born Oct. 8, 1919, in St. Paul, MN, he was the son of Oscar and Hattie (Flaskey) Carlson. He served in the US Army in WWII and was a USPS postal clerk. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, in 1983 and brothers John & Fred, and sister Gerry. He is survived by his sister, Margaret Botnen of St. Paul MN; sister-in-law, Lucille Carlson of Maplewood, MN; nieces and nephew, Diane Meyer of Waltham MN, Janet Botnen of Roseville MN, Elizabeth "Betsy" Gaspar of St. Paul and Robert Carlson of South St. Paul. We are planning a memorial service at a later date in St. Paul, MN with his burial at Ft. Snelling Cemetery.
