Otis Herbert Burrell, age 87, of D'Hanis passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Born July 12, 1922, in Hondo, he was the son of Otto Robert and Katie (Mussman) Burrell. He was a farmer and, over the years, he worked as a mechanic at Medina Base, Texas Aviation Industries, and Gary Aircraft. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Chester Clinton, Elmer C., Walter Joe, infants Fritz and Edgar; and sister, Lorine Mary Leinweber. He is survived by his wife, Imelda (Huser) Burrell; sons, Dennis and wife Billie Ann, Robert and wife Cindy, Charles, and Spencer Burrell and wife Charlyn, all of D'Hanis, and Kenneth and wife Maripat of Glendale AZ; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Cecilia K. Johnson of Hondo. Rosary at 9:45, followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., will be held Saturday, Apr. 17, at Holy Cross Catholic Church.Fr. Wallis J. Stiles officiating. Pallbearers are Chad Burrell, Corey Burrell, Jason L. Burrell, Shawn Whitley, Jason J. Burrell, Danny Zapata, and Rick Burrell. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, D'Hanis.
