Obituary

Otis Clayton Skiles, 78, of Little Elm, passed away on October 16, 2015, in Frisco, Texas. He was born on November 29, 1936, in San Antonio, Texas. Clayton attended St. Mary's University for two years and received his Associates Degree from Amarillo College. Clayton's first job was with Muir Investments. He later went to work for Scobey Moving and Storage and that is where he met his wife, Judy. Clayton married Judy Caroline Zerr on August 11, 1962, in D'Hanis. He later went to work at Medina Base and was then transferred to Pantex Plant in Amarillo, TX, in 1966. They had two daughters there. They moved back to San Antonio and Clayton worked for Southwest Research Institute until he retired in 1988. He then started buying and selling land for his next career, which he loved doing. Clayton had an amazing love of history and music throughout his life. He was a member of the band, "The Three Moods" while in high school. He was very talented! Not only was he the singer, but he also played the guitar, as well as the trombone. In later years, he sang in his church's choir. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.J. Skiles and Roxie Odessa (Houston) Skiles Stone and one brother, Glenn Doyle, and sister-n-law, Sylvia Skiles. Clayton is survived by his loving wife, Judy of 53 years of marriage, and two daughters and sons-n-law, Machelle and Troy Anderson and Cindy and Paul Slavin of Frisco, Texas. He also had five grandchildren - Courtney, Carson, and Colton Anderson and Paul David and Ashley Slavin. Visitation and viewing will be held at Mission Park North in San Antonio on Friday, October 23rd from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 24th at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis at 10 am there following the interment at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
