Owen Lee Samford of Hondo, Texas, passed away May 27, 2004, at the age of 71 years, 2 months, 4 days. Owen was born on March 23, 1933, to John Richard & Mary Etta (Hurst) Samford in Brookesmith, Texas. Owen was a retired TABC Inspector and a former Medina County Deputy. He was preceded by his parents; twin brothers: Joe Weldon & John Eldon Samford. He is survived by his wife: Ouida June (Chamberlain) Samford; sons: Douglas Samford and wife Claudia of Hondo, Travis Samford and wife Cindy of Bandera; grandchildren: Leah, Sarah, Rebekah, Philip, and Stephen; brother: Buddy Samford and wife Venita of Abilene; sister: Barbara Bickley and husband Jim of Giddings. The Visitation will be from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm Sunday, May 29, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home and the Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm Sunday, May 29, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. Casketcarriers were: Curtis L. Dunn, Jim Shofar, Roy Mumme, Jerry Williamson, James T. Mays, Alvin Santleben. Interment will follow in Hondo Cemetery WOW Section.
