Pablo R. Alvarez's Obituary
Pablo R. Alvarez of Hondo passed away at the age of 99 on Friday, Oct. 25, 2019.
Born Jan. 26, 1920, in Bigfoot, he was the son of Mariano and Maria Ramos Alvarez.
Pablo retired as a pottery inspector with Universal Rundle.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Luciana H. Alvarez; sons, Carlos and Julian H. Alvarez; daughter, Rosalinda Garcia; and siblings, Elvira, Natalia, Andrea, Carmen and Theodoro Alvarez.
He is survived by his sons, Juan M. (Flora) Alvarez of San Antonio and Jose Luis (Joy) Alvarez of Oklahoma; daughter, Jesusa (Guadalupe) Guardado of Hondo; daughter-in-law, Alberta G. Alvarez of Hondo;15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and brother, Gil Alvarez of Devine.
Visitation will be at Guinn-Horger Chapel Monday, Oct. 28, 6 to 8 p.m., with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, at S. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
