Pablo DeLeon, age 86, of Yancey passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2007. He was born in Yancey Jan. 15, 1921, to Martin and Cayetana (Sanchez) DeLeon. He was a lifelong farmer. Pablo was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Silveria (Carrillo) DeLeon; brother, Gregorio DeLeon; sisters, Vicenta Sarabia and Santos Morales; and granddaughter, LeAnna DeLeon. He is survived by sons, Manuel DeLeon and wife Elvira, Gregorio DeLeon and wife Patsy, Robert DeLeon and wife Becky. all of Yancey, and David DeLeon and wife Estella of Dallas; daughters, Carolina Ontiveros and husband Andrew of Yancey and Angelita Garcia and husband Victor of Eagle Pass; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Cleofas DeLeon and wife Oralia of Eloy, AZ; and sisters, Marcela Morquecho of Pearsall, Josefina Dominguez of San Antonio, Benita Carreno of Eddy, and Eva Nuñez of California. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m., Thursday, July 26, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass was held at 10 p.m., Friday, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Yancey, with Fr. Wallis J. Stiles officiating. Pallbearers were Roger DeLeon, Gary DeLeon, Andrew Ontiveros, Robert DeLeon Jr., Ricky DeLeon, Paul Garcia and Randy Garcia. Interment was at Yancey Cemetery.
