Pascuala Mares Ontiveros of Hondo passed away Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, in San Antonio. She was 92. Born in Hondo, May 7, 1924, she was the daughter of Jose and Concepcion Perez Mares. She was a homemaker. Pascuala was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jose G. Ontiveros; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Gregoria (Bidal) Zabala, Evangelina (Jose) Cuellar and Filemeno Garza; and her brother and sister-in-law, Ysidro (Guadalupe) Mares. Survivors include her sister, Dominga Garza of San Antonio; nephew she raised as a son, Lucio (Elena) Sanchez of Hondo; and numerous other nephews and nieces. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3, with Rosary recited at 11:30 a.m. and followed by the Funeral Mass, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hondo. Pallbearers were Rick Sanchez, Isidro Mares, Edward Garcia, Rudy Garcia, Joe Hill and Alfonso Ruiz.
