Patricia Ann "Trish" Saathoff Guinther, age 67, of Hondo passed away Monday, Oct. 6, 2014. Born in Hondo, Nov. 30, 1946, she was the daughter of Alfred Alvin and Eleen Jane Saathoff Saathoff. Patricia met the love of her life at the Cabaret in Bandera in 1967 and they were married June 15, 1968. They spent two years in Austin and then moved to Quihi where they spent the remainder of their years. After graduating high school, Trish worked for Southwestern Bell until the birth of their twin sons. A couple of years later she returned to work for AT&T until the birth of their daughter Kelly. She was a homemaker for several years while raising the children and then became a bookkeeper with Hondo ISD until she retired in 2007 after 22 years. She loved the outdoors, taking her family on numerous trips skiing, camping, fishing and hunting. In their later years, they loved to travel, especially with her sister and brother-in-law, Dolly and Stanley. These travels led them north to the far reaches of remote Canada and south to Belize, Cabo San Lucas, Cancun and Mazatlan. An active member of Quihi Bethlehem Lutheran Church, she served as treasurer for many years and also played piano for services. Trish was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Kelly Lynn. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Carl John Guinther, Jr.; twin sons, Keith (Michelle) Guinther of Dunlay and Kevin Guinther of Castroville; five grandchildren, Dalton, Audrey and Kayla, Hayden and Addison; and sisters, Willie Jean (Wilburn) Schott of Castroville and Dolly (Stanley) Meyer of Hondo. Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 8, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 9, at Quihi Bethlehem Lutheran Church, with interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
