Pauline Valdez Menchaca, age 85, of Hondo passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015. Born in Helotes, June 6, 1929, she was the daughter of Ciriaco Rivera Valdez and Paula Arriola Valdez. She enjoyed life and tried to be the best she could be in all things. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands and two sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Ellen Arellano of New Braunfels and Victor (Maria) Ortiz of Hondo; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family plans to hold a private service.
