Pedro "Pete" Campos, Jr., age 69, of Hondo passed away Thursday, Jan. 18, 2006, at his home. He was born in Hondo, Dec. 5, 1937, a son of Pedro Sr. and Angelita Garcia Campos. Pedro served in the U.S. Army as a young man. In 1978, he and two brothers-in-law established CS&S Tire in Hondo. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Armando "Shorty" Campos Sr. and Adolfo Campos. He is survived by his wife, Amparo Patricia Santos Campos; daughter, Barbara Linda Campos of San Antonio; son, Robert Steven Campos of Hondo; brothers, Eliseo Campos and Efrain Campos and wife Gloria, all of Hondo, Benito Campos and wife Maria of San Antonio; sisters, Mary Helen Gomez and husband Rogelio and Maria Gloria Rodriguez and husband Timoteo, all of San Antonio, Jane Guerrero and husband Silverio and Mimi Trevino and husband Jerry, all of Uvalde, and Eva Almandarez and husband Juan of Spring. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 21, and Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Monday, both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Fr. Jeff Pehl officiated the Mass and Esther Amador led the Rosary. Pallbearers were Rogelio Gomez, Jr., Antonio Gomez, J.D. Almandarez, Brandon Guerrero, Jonathan Sanchez, Cody Santos, Ryan Santos. Interment was in Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Section.
