Sizemore Bratton
March 1, 1935 – February 23, 2021
Peggy Lois Sizemore Bratton went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 23, 2021.
Peggy was born March 1, 1935 in Sherman, Texas, to James and Lola Sizemore.
She married Robert W. Bratton on January 13, 1954 in Sherman. Peggy and Robert settled in Victoria, Texas to raise their five children. In 1968 when Robert became an ordained minister, they relocated to Union Valley a small community near Nixon, Texas. Peggy often recalled her favorite memories of the short time they spent there. In 1969 Peggy and Robert moved to San Antonio were they served at Weidner Road Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas until October 2006 when Robert retired. Peggy had many fond and loving memories of the people of Weidner Road over the years.
Peggy and Robert retired to the hill country outside of Hondo, Texas in 2006 where they enjoyed the beautiful view of the hills. Peggy loved the beauty of nature and the wildlife there. She loved to feed the birds and tend to her many potted plants. For a few years she was a member of the Singing Women of Texas Choir where she loved to fellowship with her choir sisters and bring joy to those who came to their concerts. Peggy most of all loved her family and the time she was able to spend with them. She will be missed.
Peggy is predeceased by her husband, Robert; parents, James and Lola Sizemore; brother, Bob Sizemore; and her daughter, Pamela Bratton Carlucci.
She is survived by her brother James Sizemore; daughter Anne Marie; sons Richard, James Robert and Nathan; six grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at Guinn-Horger in Hondo, Texas on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM. Graveside service to follow at Hondo Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 27, at Guinn-Horger Chapel, followed by the Funeral Service at 2 p.m. Graveside service will be at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
