Peggy Ann Burk Sullivan of Hondo, age 50, left this life Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, after an automobile accident. Born in Frankfurt, Germany, Sept. 26, 1967, she was the youngest daughter of Kenneth Wyman Burk and Ingeborg Janzee Burk. Peggy was devoted to her family first and foremost. Her family said she was the proverbial protective "momma bear" or "helicopter mom." Peggy was one of the special kind of people who serve as hospice nurses: loving, caring and kind. She was known for playing for all her passing patients the song, "When I Get Where I Am Going," and it was played in her honor as family, friends and co-workers celebrated her life. She was preceded in death by her mother and brother-in-law, Stephen Cockrell. Survivors include her husband, Richy P. Sullivan; father, Kenneth Burk; daughter, Kayla Nicole Kruser; son, Hunter Matthew Sullivan; stepson: Michael (Michelle) Sullivan and children, Addison and Weston; stepdaughter, Jennifer Summers and her child, June Riley Faye; sisters, Linda (Jeff) Bickford and Dorothy Cockrell; nieces and nephews, Jessica, Kevin, Christine, and Chance; and in-laws, Elaine and Paul Sullivan. A memorial service celebrating her life was held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 6, at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
