Obituary

Perry Lee Pichot of Norman, OK, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, at the young age of 61. Perry was born in Hondo, on Nov. 12, 1948. He graduated from Hondo High School and was an exceptional athlete. Although a native Texan, he made Oklahoma his home. He attended the University of Oklahoma and became one of the original founders of a business known as Sight n Sound. He discovered that he could not sit still in retirement and decided to become the Code Enforcement Officer for Slaughterville, OK. He was a devoted Sooner fan, an avid golfer, and loved to tell stories. Perry was bigger-than-life in both his physical stature and his personality, yet he was the smallest, shortest and youngest of four boys. An early childhood with three bigger and older brothers made him a fabulous salesman. This trait served him well in adulthood and made him a strong man and a tremendous person. He made friends everywhere he went and left everyone smiling when he left a room. Perry had no children of his own but had many close relatives. He leaves behind a brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Gwen Pichot of Laredo; sisters-in-law, Laura Stricker Pichot of Pipe Creek and Lupita Pichot of Tennessee; three nieces, Glynn Rae Pichot of Flower Mound, Cindee Pichot of Norman, OK, and Stephanie Gault of Austin; a nephew, Kenneth Pichot of San Antonio; one great-niece, Kayla Brandt of Norman, OK; four great-nephews, Russell Brandt of Flower Mound, Joshua Gault and Justin Gault of Austin, and Kyle Pichot of San Antonio; a step-grandson, Sterling Evers of Mustang, OK; and uncle and aunts, Frank and Ada Carrasco, Adell Burger and Eva Brown. He also leaves behind many cousins and friends. He was preceeded in death by his parents, Charles John (C.J.) Pichot and Alice Ruth Saathoff Pichot; and brothers, Dennis Leon Pichot and Clifton Charles Pichot. A funeral service was held at the Noble Assembly of God Church in Noble, OK, on Tuesday, Dec. 1, with Rev. Steve Lance officiating. Perry's body will be transported to Hondo for a funeral service at Guinn-Horger Chapel at 10 a.m. (today), Thursday, Dec. 3, with Kenneth Heyen officiating. Interment will be at the Bob Padgett Ranch on Williams Creek at Tarpley. Casket bearers are James Highsmith, Blake Wernette, Bob Padgett, L.C. Smith, Charlie Keeling, Russell Brandt, Ken Pichot, Larry Winkler, and Terry Childress. Honorary bearers are Nelson and Jerry Martin, Dale Lindeburg, Jimmy Raines, Frankie Carrasco, Terry Moore, Frank Cook, Charlie Coch, Stanley Hill, David Wharton, Jackie Wheeler, and George "Beaner" Heyen. The family suggests donations be made in his honor to the Schweers Historical Foundation, c/o Don Schoch, 1227 Vista Bonita, New Braunfels, TX 78130.
