Petra (Garcia) Gonzales, Age 76 years, 5 months, and 27 days, of Yancey, Texas, died on Thursday, August 19, 2004, in San Antonio. She was born in Paducca, Texas on February 23, 1928, the daughter of Clemente & Julia (Tovar) Garcia. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Natividad C. "T.V." Gonzales; son-in-law: Alberto Leal Salazar; sisters: Vicenta Garcia, Flora Carranza, Epifania Sarabia; granddaughters: Alexis DeAnne Gonzales, LeAnne DeLeon. Petra is survived by her daughters: Louisa Salazar of Hondo, Sylvia Dominguez and husband Oscar of Hondo, Estella DeLeon and husband David of Dallas, Amalia Gonzales and husband Reynaldo of San Antonio, Odilia Dominguez and husband Steve of Austin, Shannon G. Rodriguez and husband Louis of Yancey; 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; brothers: Sostenses Garcia, Sr. and wife Dominga of Yancey, Abran Garcia and wife Leonor of Hondo; half brothers & sisters: Rosa Sanchez, Raul Jasso, Elena Cabrera, Virginia DeLeon, Patsy DeLeon, Steve Jasso. The Rosary will be Sunday, August 22, at 7:00 pm at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Monday August 23, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The pallbearers were Albert Luis Salazar, Chris Gonzales, Oscar H. Dominguez, Garrett Dominguez, Spencer Dominguez, Juan Gabriel Gonzales, Alberto A. Salazar. The honorary pallbearers were Steve Dominguez, Reynaldo A. Gonzales, Oscar Dominguez, David DeLeon, Louis Rodriguez. Interment will follow in Yancey Cemetery.
