Porfirio Lopez-Montanez of Hondo passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2022. He was 75.

Born Sept. 15, 1947, in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico, he was the son of David Lopez and Ventura Montañez Lopez.

Always smiling, laughing and helping others, Porfirio enjoyed barbecuing, listened to his music as loud as possible and loved to dance.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gilberto Lopez.

He is survived by long-time companion, Guadalupe Alaquinez; children, Sandra Patricia Lopez (Oscar Esparza), Francisco Javier Lopez (Marlen Cardenete), Julio Rogelio Lopez (Anna Maria Castañeda), Aron Lopez, Raymundo Lopez, Raquel Bilbraut (Eddie Bilbraut); 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Olivia Lopez Strickland (Robert Strickland), Maria Del Refugio Lopez (Rogelio Lopez), and Maria Luisa Lopez (Castulo Avila).

A private service is planned.
