Prisciliano Gaitan Sr., age 90, of Hondo passed away Friday, July 6, 2007. He was born Jan. 4, 1917, to Jacinto and Rafaela (Rios) Gaitan in Piedras Negras, Mexico. He was a retired farmer and served as an elder at Iglesia Christiana. Prisciliano was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jose Gaitan and Antonio Gaitan; and sisters, Angelina Gomez and Adela Fragas. He is survived by his wife, Maria E. Gaitan of Hondo; daughters, Guillermia Esparza and husband Raul, Teresa Trujillo and husband Rogelio, and Ruth Ramirez and husband Abel, all of San Antonio; sons, Prisciliano E. Gaitan Jr. and wife Edna, Francisco Gaitan and wife Minerva, and Ernesto Gaitan and wife Delia, all of Hondo, Roberto Gaitan and wife Dora and Reynaldo Gaitan and wife Lupita, all of San Antonio; 30 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren; sisters, Juanita Rivas of Eagle Pass and Elisa Blanco of Colorado. Visitation will be Monday, July 9, 4 to 8 p.m., and Tuesday, July 10, 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 11, at 10 a.m. at Iglesia Christiana in Hondo. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
