Rudolph Langford "R.L." Haass, adored son and brother, beloved husband, father and grandfather, and respected friend, passed away Aug. 14, 2010. He is reunited in heaven with his father, August, and brother, Perry. R.L. leaves behind his mother, Mac Haass; wife, Suzi (Ward) Haass; son, Brant Haass and his girlfriend Dodi; daughters, Gina Laidley and her husband Chris, and Lisa Rothe and her husband Eric; grandchildren, Mandi Allen and her husband Luke, Ashley, Megan, Ryan, Chance, Ross and Cassie; and great-grandchildren, Blake and Kolby; as well as his sister, Barbara Friesenhahn and her husband Freddie; sister-in-law, Patsy Ulbrich and husband Pete; brother-in-law, Bobby Ward and wife Mary; and many nieces and nephews. R.L. loved his family and friends, getting together to cook BBQ, hunting and fishing with his grandkids, and working as a craftsman. He was born in San Antonio on January 15, 1940, where he grew up, and later moved his family to Biry, where he lived until his death. He was a man full of adventure, who will be missed by all. A memorial service will held at 12 noon, Wednesday, Aug. 18, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
