Ramona Frances Koch of Hondo, Texas, went to her Lord on April 21, 2026, at the age of 91. She was born in Hondo on July 3, 1934, to Raymond and Cecilia Garteiser Koch. She is survived by her sister, Alleen J. Koch.

Ramona attended St. John's Catholic School and during that time made her First Holy Communion and Confirmation. She graduated from St. John's School in 1948 and from Hondo High School in 1952. She went to work for Hondo National Bank for 44 years.

Ramona lived all her life in her family home in Hondo and, though she never married, was always ready to volunteer to help with church and community projects any time she was needed.

In her lifetime she was a member of the Girl Scouts and Castro Colonies Heritage Association. A devoted member of St. John's Catholic Church, she was a member of Sodality of Mary, Altar Society, Guadalupana Society, Order of Martha, St. John's Historical Association, Society of St. Vincent De Paul, and sang in the church choir.

As a wonderful community volunteer, she was involved with Community Care Center, Medina County Food Pantry, and the Medina Regional Hospital Gift Shop.

She and her sister enjoyed traveling together to religious sites. They visited the Passion Play in Germany, St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, Our Lady of Lourdes in France, and The Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem.

Her sister Alleen and all her friends will miss her quiet, kind, spiritual soul.

Visitation at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church will be Wednesday, April 29, at 9:00 a.m., followed by recitation of the Rosary at 9:30, Mass at 10:00, and entombment at St. John Mausoleum.
