Raul J. Villarreal, Sr., age 55, passed away Sept. 19, 2003. He was born on Jun. 10, 1948, in D'Hanis, Texas, to Anacleto F. and Mariana (Martinez) Villarreal. He was preceded in death by his father, brothers: El Niño Rudolfo, and Henry Villarreal; sister: Gloria Villarreal. He is survived by his wife: Elena (Ramirez) Villarreal, daughters: Virginia Roure and husband Paul of Galveston, Veronica Wilson and husband Ken of Hondo; son: Raul Villarreal, Jr. and wife Brandie of Hondo; mother: Mariana M. Villarreal of D'Hanis; brothers: Armando Villarreal of Atascosa, Rudy Villarreal of Hondo, Gilbert Villarreal of Hondo; sisters: Estella V. Ramirez of Devine, and Emma Villarreal of CA. The Rosary was recited Sunday, September 21, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Funeral Mass was held Monday, September 22, at 10:00 a.m., at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with burial at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. The pallbearers were: Hernan Cortez, Rudy Fernandez, Manual Duran, III, David Duran, Ernesto Salazar, Frank Pedroza.
