Ray Orlanda Neyland, age 94, of Yancey passed away Friday, June 7, 2013. Born in Pawhuska, OK, March 14, 1919, he was the son of Quinton Orlando and Beulah (Carraway) Neyland. He was a proud member of the United States Air Force, serving 22 years including WWII and Korea. Ray leaves a legacy of service and love to all who met him. He will be remembered forever by his loving wife, Rosemary, his family, and friends. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Ray Neyland Jr. and Eugene Neyland; daughter, Polly Neyland; and 10 siblings. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Rosemary (Kramer) Neyland; son, Alton Neyland and wife Pamela of Benbrook, Diane Schroeder of Yancey, Sharon Woodward and husband Chuck of Boerne, and Bernadine Rihn and husband Freddy of Yancey; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, June 9, 6 to 8 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held Monday, June 10, 10 a.m. at the Guinn-Horger Chapel, followed by interment at San Fernando Cemetery No. 2 at 12:30 p.m.
