Refugia "Cuca" Hernandez Saucedo, age 85, of Hondo passed away Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014. Born in Hondo, Aug. 18, 1925, she was the daughter of Jesus and Maria (Gomez) Hernandez. Cuca was a faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Guadalupana Society. For many years, she led the Rosary service for deceased friends and family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Luis F. Saucedo; and siblings, Valente, Dionicio, Simon, Juan, Maria, Petra G., and Lucia G. Hernandez and Sara Garcia,. Survivors include her daughter, Raquel Saucedo of Hondo, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday 5 to 8 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 4, 10 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
