Reginald Ernst Weirich, Age 80 years, 8 months, and 17 days, of Quihi, Texas, died on Friday, February 11, 2005. He was born in Johnson City, on May 25, 1924, the son of Alfred August & Gretchen (Klappenbach) Weirich. Reggie is a retired Chief Master Sergeant U.S. Air Force. He served as a aircraft mechanic and flight enhineer in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was stationed in Italy and flew on B-17 bombers. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Dora O. (Vogel) Weirich; son Stephen Weirich, and brother Oswald Weirich. Reggie is survived by his sons Wayne Weirich and wife Charlotte of Farmer's Branch, Alfred Weirich of Spring Branch, Phillip Weirich and wife Jakelynn of Quihi, Randy Weirich and wife Kim of Castroville; daughters Barbara Lapp and husband Steve of Quihi, Doris Cronin and husband Bill of Castroville; 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; sisters Hilda Schmidt of Blanco, Esther Grobe of Fredricksburg, Evelyn Rutkowski of China Grove. The visitation will be from 6:30 pm until 7:30 pm at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, February 15, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Quihi where the services were led by pastor Stephen Schur. The burial will follow in the Quihi Cemetery. The casketcarriers were Richard Hernandez, Morris Baxter, Cordell Bohlen, Curtis Boehme, Devin Weirich, Steve Zdancewic, and the honorary casketcarriers were A. B. Schneider, E.J. Williams. The family suggests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
