Reid Wells, 75, of Pittsburg, TX, formerly of Yancey, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018. Born Apr. 1, 1942, in San Antonio, he was the son of Henry Franklin and Mildred Esther Cornell Wells. Reid loved music and participated in many sing-alongs. He was a singer and a Western Swing songwriter. He was an outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing and playing golf. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Patricia Ann McKenzie Wells; brother, Preston Wells; and stepdaughter, Kulia Lovell. He is survived by his wife, Julia Chance Wells of Pittsburgh; son, Michael (Lisa) Wells of Lytle; stepson, Chance (Ann) Lovell of Mesa AZ; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; brother, Carson (Annette) Wells; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 11, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11, at Yancey Cemetery.
