Rene Rodriguez

Rene Rodriguez of Hondo passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, in San Antonio. He was 58.

Born Dec. 2, 1967, in Hondo, he was the son of Lupita G. Sosa Rene was a lifelong resident of Hondo where he was known by many people whom he called friends and he had an abundant amount of family. Rene worked many years in road construction which he enjoyed. He was loved by many and he will be missed and never forgotten. May he rest in eternal peace.

He is preceded in death by brother, Oscar Rodriguez; and grandparents, Julian and Trinidad Garcia and Carlos and Olivia Rodriguez

He is survived by his mother, Lupita G. Sosa; wife, Selma Benavides Rodriguez; sons, Jarod Rodriguez, Ronnie Coronado & Derek Rodriguez; daughter, Corina Rodriguez; brother, Joe Alex Rodriguez; and uncles, Carlos Rodriguez, Jr. and Richard

Funeral service will be at 10.00 am.. Mondav. June 22. at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Annex.
