Reymundo B. Rodriguez Sr. of Hondo, age 76, passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, after battling cancer. He was born Apr. 7, 1931, in Hondo, a son of Elizandro Sr. and Julia (Barrientes) Rodriguez. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Leoniel Rodriguez and Reymundo D. Rodriguez Jr.; granddaughter, Bonita Rodriguez; and brothers, Elisandro Rodriguez Jr. and Rudolfo "Rudy" Rodriguez. Survivors include his wife, Edilia H. (Dominguez) Rodriguez; daughter, Norma Ricci and husband Mark of Charlotte, NC; son, Orlando Rodriguez of Hondo; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; brothers, Francisco "Frank" Rodriguez, Raul Rodriguez, and Alonso Rodriguez, all of Hondo. A Rosary, led by Jose Mares on Saturday, and Funeral Mass, celebrated Sunday, Oct. 7, at 1 p.m. by Fr. Ken Dakin, for Reymundo and his son, Rey, were held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Pallbearers were Robert A. Rodriguez, Jose A. Rodriguez, Leoniel Rodriguez Jr., Edward Esquivel, Guillermo Gallegos and Nicholas A. Ricci. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
