Rita Esquivel Corona of Hondo, 80, passed away Thursday, Apr. 27, 2017. Born in Hondo, March 10, 1937, she was the daughter of Francisco and Maria Guajardo Esquivel. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Domingo Corona; and siblings, Cruz, Jesus and Juan Esquivel, Clara Carrasco and Eulalio Camacho. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Maria Rita Mares, Anita Coz Santana, Jaime Corona Sr., Cruz (Larry) Miller, Inez (Andy) Morales and Francisco (Dorothy) Corona, all of Hondo, and Fernando (Amalia) Corona Sr. of Natalia; 23 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Edward Esquivel; and sisters, Guadalupe (Domingo) Sanchez, Oralia Botello and Consuelo Delgado, all of Hondo. Visitation will be Monday May 1, 6 to 7 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel, with Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 2, 11 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
