Robbie L. Newt Morris of San Antonio passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020. She was 97.

Born in Spearsville LA, Sept. 25, 1923, she was the daughter of Robert and Lena Washington Newt.

Robbie was a graduate of Wiley College and Grambling University, with degrees in biology and zoology. She worked as a teacher and, later, as a nurse. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Lorenzo Morris; a brother and a sister; her grandson, Michael Jordan Ligon; and son-in-law, Michael Alfred "Mike" Ligon.

Survivors include her daughters, Emmalyn Faye Morris Ligon and Magdalena Gaye Morris, both of San Antonio; and grandchildren, Love Ainesworth of Denton and Aaron J. Blandon of San Antonio.

No service is planned at this time. Interment will be at a later date at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Spearsville LA.
