Robert Fred "Bobby" Burrell of D'Hanis, age 73, left this life on  Wednesday, July 26, 2023.

Born July 25,1950, in Hondo, he was one of five sons of Otis Herbert and Imelda Hilda Huser Burrell.

A 1967 graduate of D'Hanis High School, he became skilled in electronics, owned and operated D'Hanis Ice Station, and was plant manager for Capital Sand and Gravel.

He was dedicated to his community, serving on the D'Hanis ISD school board, as past Lions Club president; as a long-time member of the D'Hanis Volunteer Fire Department and of Holy Cross Catholic Church.

Bobby loved the outdoors and spent countless hours farming, hunting and fixhing.

Preceded in death by his father, he is survived by his mother; his wife of 50 years, Cindy Johnston Burrell; daughter, Deserie (Julian) Alvarez; son, Chad (Millie) Burrell; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and brothers, Dennis (Billie Ann) Burrell, Kenneth (Maripat) Burrell, Charles "Chuck" Burrell and Spencer (Charlyn) Burrell.

Visitation at Guinn-Horger Chapel on Friday, Aug. 4, will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with a prayer service to be held at 7:30 p.m. Services will conclude at the chapel.
