Robert Hernandez, age 85, of Castroville, TX, passed away Oct. 7, 2009. Robert was born May 25, 1924 in Guthrie, OK to the late Frank and Josephine Acosta Hernandez. Robert was a WWII veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post 460, and the VFW Post 8134. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Pasquala Hernandez; and children, John R. Dabbs, and Patricia Mie Berger. Survivors include his wife, Clemencia Firestone Hernandez; children, James Dabbs of Castroville, Richard Dabbs of Canyon Lake, Hazel Baldridge of Laredo, Teresa Greene of Ludington, MI, and Christine Belanger of Maricopa, AZ; 26 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Monday, Oct. 12, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:15 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009 at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
