Obituary

Robert J. "Bob" Heyen of Hondo passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021. He was 82.

Born Feb. 3, 1938, in Hondo, he was the son of Leslie Robert and May Lillian Paulsen Heyen.

Bob graduated Hondo High School and joined the U.S. Navy. He worked in West Texas oil fields for a time and, for many years, was a real estate broker and owned Bob Heyen Realty in Hondo.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Dennis Heyen,  James L. "Jim" Heyen; and sister, Evelyn J. Griggs.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Rohrbach Heyen; sons, Kyle J. (Kim) Heyen and George R. (Yvette) Proctor; daughter, Bobbi Ann (Vinny) Mazza; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and brother, Kenneth (Marilyn) Heyen.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 27, 5 to 7 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Chapel.

Rosary at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 28, will be at Guinn-Horger Chapel, followed by graveside service at 11:00 at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. Pallbearers are Kenny Rohrbach, Lance Griffin, Justin Griffin, Daulton Griffin, Brooks Griffin, Garett Dickens, Austin Dickens, and Trey Dickens.

The family suggests memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of  your choice.
