Robert Glenn Pope of Hondo, Texas, passed away February 6, 2005, at the age of 86. He was born September 5, 1920, in Barksdale, Texas, the son of Emmett Green & Mary (Gray) Pope. Robert retired from the U.S. Navy at the rank of Captain. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Mae (Estopinal) Pope; son, Peter Pope; brother, L. Elmo Pope. Robert is survived by his sons Robert Pope, Jr. and wife Mara of Seattle, WA, Edward Pope of San Francisco, CA, Paul Pope and wife Debra of Anna; daughters Fredee Carr and husband David of New Braunfels, Mary Beth Hollahan and husband George of Austin, Cherie Guy and husband Jim of Austin, Maureen Lane and husband Ron of Hondo, Michele Hartung and husband Bobby of Hondo; 11 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren;. Visitation is planned to be at the family home from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 11. The Graveside Service, will be at 1:15 p.m. Monday February 12, at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
