Robert John Zuberbueler of Hondo, 73, passed away Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017. He was a former Medina County Commissioner, serving Precinct 1. Born May 21, 1944, in Hondo, he was the son of Robert Louis and Armine Marie Fohn Zuberbueler. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Susan Aimee Porter Zuberbueler. He is survived by his sons, Robert L. (Kim) Zuberbueler of Stonewall and Jeffry S. Zuberbueler of Hondo; grandchildren, Katelyn and Rob; brothers, Thomas Zuberbueler of Dunlay and Charles Zuberbueler of Boerne; sisters, Mary (John) Walters of Lockhart and Susan (Steve) Moye of San Antonio; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation from1:30 to 2 p.m. will be followed by recitation of the Rosary at 2:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 2:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 1, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Section. The family suggests memorials may be made to St. John's Building Fund or D'Hanis Lions Club.
