Roland Torres Gonzalez, age 58, of Creekwood passed away Tuesday, Dec, 8, 2009, in Hondo. He was born May 29, 1951, in Weslaco, a son of Alfonso and Santos (Torres) Gonzalez. A former member of the U.S. Air Force, he worked in maintenance at San Antonio International Airport. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, Santos Ibarra; his wife, Marisol (Salinas) Gonzalez of Creekwood; daughter, Tina Marie Gonzalez; son, Roland Gonzalez Jr., both of San Antonio; six grandchildren; brothers, Alfonso Gonzalez and wife Elouise, Arturo Gonzalez and wife Santa, Frank Ibarra and wife Cindy, Gilbert Ibarra, Roger Ibarra and wife Melissa, all of San Antonio, and Avaristo Cristan and family of San Juan, TX; sisters, Yolanda Gonzalez, Diana Navaira and husband Paul, Norma Diaz and husband Victor, all of San Antonio, and Sandra Shipley and husband Sonny of Louisiana. Rosary, followed by the funeral service, was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel.
