Roland Doyle Weber went to be with our Lord on Jan. 1, 2014, at the age of 86. His parents, William Ben and Lydia Amanda (Riff) Weber, and Adeline, his wife of 54 years, preceded him in death. He is survived by three children, Kurt Weber and wife Etta Faye, Cindy Fohn and husband David, and Will Weber and wife Monica, all of Hondo; grandchildren, Katy Hamner and husband Walter, Sara McWilliams and husband Glenn, Conrad Weber, Morgan Weber and Frank Denny; and great-grandchildren, Avery Graves, Addison Graves and Emma Hamner. Doyle was born in Hondo, on Jan. 4, 1927. He graduated from Hondo High School, attended A&I University, Kingsville. He was a lifelong farmer and rancher. He joined the U.S. Army in 1946 and later served as captain at the Texas National Guard Armory in Hondo. In 1952 he met Adeline Steurenthaler and they were married at St. John's Church in Hondo on Oct. 23, 1954. He and Adeline enjoyed many Saturday nights either at a Quihi dance or playing pitch with friends. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 4, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Section. Pallbearers were Jimmy Weber, Galen Weber, Ronnie Eckhart, Ed Cheatle, Frank Denny, Morgan Weber and Ben A. Weber.
