Rolando P.
"Rollie" Ramirez
September 20, 1954 – February 4, 2024
Rolando P. Ramirez of Hondo passed away Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024. He was 69.
Born Sept 20, 1954, in Hondo, he was the son of Porfirio A. "Pilo" and Maria "Mary" Perez Ramirez, both of whom preceded him in death.
Rolando 'Rollie' Ramirez was known for his boxing talent. He had many talents: carpentry and landscaping he always took pride in. He played the guitar. He loved teaching boxing to his nieces and nephews and grandkids. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He will forever be remembered for all the nicknames he gave us. He was jokingly known as "Sorry Sh--", a nickname that became a word-play between his friends and him. Those who knew him, knew if he liked you, or didn't like what you did, or what you said. He would say they were a "sorry sh—" or "full of sh—".
He is survived by his sons, Ramsey Ramirez and Randy Ramirez (Rachel); stepdaughters, Rose Barrios and Maria Barrios; grandchildren, Angela, John, Marissa, Riley, Matthew, Jannet and Julyssa Ramirez; great-grandchildren, Marcus and Matthew Gonzales; sister, Delia Ramirez (Robert); niece, Rhonda N. Ramirez; great-grandnephews, Michael Rodriguez and Zakry Ramirez; great-great-grandnephew, Elijah Rodriguez and great-great-grandniece, Zakarya Ramirez.
