Rosa Nott Treviño Gamboa of Hondo, 94, born Oct. 2, 1924, in Derby TX, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019. Rosa's passions were sewing and crocheting. Working with those projects, her hands were never idle. In their younger days, she enjoyed fishing with her husband, even when the fish weren't biting. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaspar and Rosa Nott Treviño; her husband of 63 years, Margarito Gamboa; children, Velia Maria Zapata and Eduardo Gamboa; and siblings, Baltazar Treviño, Jose Treviño, Enriqueta Mendez and Esther Ramirez. Survivors include her daughter, Viola Ann (Paul R.) Santos of Hondo; son, Juan Roberto (Mary-Martha) Gamboa of LaVernia; six grandchildren, Yvonne Ramirez, Eduardo "EG" Pogue, Rosina Santos, Sergio Santos, Jennifer Gamboa and Angelica Gamboa; four great-grandchildren, Sailor, Ronan, Jacob and Yvette; and one great-great-grandchild. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2:00 p.m. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio.
