Ruben Y. Sanchez of San Antonio, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 3, 2007, at the age of 73. Ruben was born on January 27, 1934, in Knippa, Texas, the son of Benito & Christina (Ybarra) Sanchez. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Cornelio Sanchez, Jose Sanchez, Jorge Sanchez, Frank Sanchez, Alex Sanchez, Benito Sanchez, Jr.; sisters, Jesusita Sanchez, Ricarda "Carlita" Ortiz, Elvira Mendoza. He is survived by his sons, Ruben Sanchez, Jr. of San Antonio, Enrique Sanchez of San Antonio; daughters, Belinda Vasquez of San Antonio, Diane Dugger of San Antonio; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Visitation will be at the Guinn-Horger Funeral on Monday, November 5, 2007, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be at the First Baptist Church in Hondo on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 10:00 a.m., with his nephew, Angel Sanchez, officiating. Pallbearers were Carlos Mendoza, Richard S. Mendoza, Daniel S. Mendoza, Monico S. Mendoza, Brian A. Vasquez and Javier Vasquez. The Burial Service will followed at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
