Ruby Nester McIntire was born July 26, 1931 on her family farm in D'Hanis, TX. She died May 15, 2014 in Georgetown, TX. The ninth child of Henry Nester and Ella Brown, Ruby is survived by her younger sister Charlene Saathoff; her children, Mark S. Ney and wife Susan Berryman, Nancy McIntire Nietupski and husband Andrew, Mary McIntire, Tom McIntire; her grandchildren, John Ney, Katherine Ney; and by her great grandchildren, Lorelei Ney and Lydia Ney. After graduating from D'Hanis High School in 1947, Ruby worked for a local lumber yard and Ford dealer. She eventually moved to the Austin area where she spent most of her life. Ruby had a love for animals, gardening, and painted in oils in her spare time. Ruby was with her family until the angels called her home. A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 11:30am at the Woodmen of the World cemetery in D'Hanis.
