Ruth A. (Small) Watkins, age 76, of Hondo passed away Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011. She was born Aug. 19, 1934, in Hagerstown, MD, the daughter of Robert H. and Margaret (Criswell) Small. She was the bookkeeper at City Auto Parts for many years. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bobby C. Watkins; and sister, Eleanor Yingling. Survivors are her daughters, Peggy Offerman and husband Jimmy and Susan Hinze and husband Dwayne, all of Hondo; son, Donny Watkins and wife Denise of D'Hanis; grandchildren, Candy O. Vidrine and husband Marcus of Fredericksburg, Chris Hinze of Hondo, Holly O. Henderson and husband Jeff of Canadian, Robert Watkins of D'Hanis, Tracey Offerman of Hondo and Katie Watkins of D'Hanis; and great-grandchildren, Carlton Vidrine, Bryson Henderson and Storm Offerman; and brothers, Robert Small of Hanover, PA, and Larry G. Small of Hagerstown, MD. Funeral service was Monday, Feb. 14, 2 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Chapel, Hondo. Casket bearers were Marcus Vidrine, Jeff Henderson, Jimmy Offerman, Dwayne Hinze, Chris Hinze and Robert Watkins. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. The family suggests memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the charity of one's choice.
