Saragoso Joseph Cadena, age 89, of Hondo passed away Friday, May 17, 2013. Born Mar. 25, 1924, in D'Hanis, he was the son of Ramon and Eufrasia (Luna) Cadena. He was a machinist. Saragoso was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ramon Cadena; sisters, Guadalupe Salazar, Rita Mesa, Virginia Benites, Sofia Torres; and daughter-in-law, Priscilla Cadena. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jacinta (Zavala) Cadena; sons, Raul Cadena, Jose Cadena and wife Eva, all of Hondo, and Joseph Cadena of San Antonio; four grandchildren, Jorge Cadena, Teresa Cadena, Jesseca Taylor and Gabriella Cadena; one great-grandchild, Sean Taylor; brother, Raul Cadena and wife Hortencia of Mabank, TX; sisters, Emelia Flores and Ofelia Benavides, both of Hondo. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., with Rosary recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. Pallbearers were Ygnacio Benitez Jr., Felipe Bermea Jr., Anthony Flores, Bobby Flores, Rogelio Flores, and Paul Michel Arredondo.
