Sharon Mechler of Sabinal, 60, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025. Born July 27, 1964, in San Antonio, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Agnes Becker Mechler.

Sharon dedicated her life to service, both in her career and her community. As a teacher for over twenty years, she touched countless lives, inspiring and guiding her students with patience and wisdom. She later served as a secretary for the Catholic Church, further deepening her commitment to faith and kindness. A past member of the Sabinal Lions Club, Sharon was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Fiercely headstrong, yet endlessly compassionate, she was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, great-great-aunt, cousin, and friend who cherished her family above all else. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Smart, Dorothy Smart, April Mechler, and Debbie Rodriguez (Roger); and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, great-great-nieces and -nephews, and cousins.

Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 8, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis and Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Sabinal. Pallbearers: Christopher Yeschke, Curtis Yeschke, Johnny Smart, Michael Smart, Jacob Smart and Caleb Yeschke.
