Shirley Haby Saathoff of Hondo, Texas, passed away May 11, 2003, at the age of 81. She was a housewife, farmer and former telephone operator. Her quiet support was felt in many areas of the community and she will be missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Saathoff; parents, Sterling and Lena (Schuehle) Haby; and sister, Darvine Clark. She is survived by her children, Helen Ann Jones, Sandra Lee Faseler and husband, Morris, and Michael Saathoff and wife, Gail; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, May 12, 5 to 8 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, May 13, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hondo. Interment will be in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
