Simon S. Arcos, Sr., age 72, passed away on June 20, 2005 in San Antonio. He was born on December 5, 1932, in Hondo, the son of Vicente G. & Antonia (Solis) Arcos. Simon served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings Luz, Arnulfo, Reymundo, Joe, Cresencio, Jesse, George, Santos, Vicente, Jr., Jacinta, Irene Rubio, Ursula Bernal, Guadalupe Hinojosa. Simon is survived by his wife Eva (Dominguez) Arcos, son Simon Arcos, Jr. and wife Ida of Hondo; daughter Mandy Dominguez and husband Bobby of Hondo; sons Eddie Arcos and wife Yvette of Hondo, Charlie Arcos and wife Gloria of Hondo; daughters Terry Ramirez and husband Roy of Hondo, Margie Garcia and husband Freddy of Hondo; 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; brother Manuel Arcos and wife Queta of San Antonio; sisters Apolonia Martinez of San Antonio, Alice Pedroza and husband Pete of Hondo. The Rosary was Thursday June 23, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 7:30 p.m. and the Funeral Mass, officiated by Jeff Pehl, was at 10:00 am on Friday, June 24, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The Burial followed at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
