Sirilda R. Leyva, age 84, of Hondo went home to be with the Lord Friday, May 6, 2011. She was born in Hondo July 9, 1926, to Petra and Ignacio Rios. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose kindness was felt by all those she touched. Her life was a reflection of the love she had for her family and her faith in the Lord. Sirilda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eduardo Leyva; son, Norberto Leyva, great-grandson, Dakota Mundie; sisters, Felicia Gonzales, Sabas Moncada, Ignacia Sandoval, Frances Dominguez, Sister Philomena Rios, Mary Jo Torres, Petra Rios, Bernardine Rios, Trinidad Rios, Victoriano Rios and Frank Rios. Survivors are her son, Domingo Arturo "Godoy"and wife Doris; daughters, Tomasa "Tommi" Barrios and husband Arturo and Stella Lindsay. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Cynthia Leyva Farley, Criselda Bobinette, Bart, Jason and Scott Mundie, Jonathon Leyva, Elizabeth Ytuarte, Tabitha Salinas, Arturo Barrios Jr. , Jovan Garcia, James, Richard and Toni Renae Lindsay; great- grandchildren Andrea, Ashley, Hannah, Samuel and Seth Farley, Ricky, Ryan Hernandez, Julia Cuellar, Kristen, Kaylin Bobinette, Amber, Jacob, Lane Mundie, Gabrielle Leyva, Joshua, Jonah, Abigail, Jose and Hannah Ytuarte, Zacharia Moncada, Lauren and Andres Barrios, Jada and Jasmine Garcia, Nicole and Brandon Mundie; great-great-grandchildren, Rylie, Raelynn and Reanne Hernandez, Alessa Mundie, and numerous nieces and nephews. Rosary was recited Tuesday, May 10, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral service was May 11, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hondo. Casket bearers were Jonah Ytuarte, Jonathon Leyva, Bart Mundie, John Barrios, Bobby Torres, and Arturo Barrios Jr. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery.
