Steve Albert DeLeon of D'Hanis, age 66, passed away Saturday, May. 20, 2023.

Born Feb. 2, 1957, in Hondo, he was the son of Estevan and Uvaldina Lopez DeLeon, both of whom preceded him in death.

After 38 years with Union Pacific Railroad, Steve retired as track foreman in 2017. He enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports and spending time with his railroad friends.

He is survived by daughters, Cora Lockaby (James) and Amanda Dean (Chance), all of Utopia; son, Steve Austin DeLeon of Sulfer LA; grandchildren, Cheney Lockaby, Vijay, Quade and Ryann Dean, Paisley and Shelby DeLeon, and Jagger Parker; mother of his children, Diane Cheney; and siblings, Martha Schapeler, Jimmy DeLeon (Elizabeth), Kathy Green, Nelda Smith (Richard), Laurie Dominguez (Lou) and Janet Aase.

Rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m., on Friday, May 26, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, D'Hanis, followed by Memorial Mass at 2:00 p.m. Service will conclude at the church.
