Steve B. Lara, age 54, peacefully passed away on June 25, 2016 surrounded by his loving children after a strong and courageous battle with Cholangiocarcinoma, in San Antonio. He was born on August 10, 1961 in Frankfurt, Germany. He was a devoted father, grandfather, son and friend. He was a 1980 graduate of John Jay High School. Steve worked at Randolph Airforce Base as an aircraft mechanic for the past 30 years. He will be missed for his kindness, sincerity, giving nature and especially for his sense of humor and practical jokes. Steve was loved by many. He was pre-deceased in death by his grandmother, Emila Cantu and his step-father, Raul Arredondo. He is survived by his mother, Colette Lara; father and stepmother, Trinidad and Sylvia Lara; sons, Brian Lara and Sean Lara; daughter, Alyson Bohmfalk and husband Zachary; grandson, Sean Hayden Lara; brothers, Herve Lara and wife Suzanne, and Richard Lara, nieces, Katherine, Michelle, Nicole and Samantha; and stepbrother, Jose Arredondo and nephew, Jose Arredondo, Jr. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
