Steven Jay Lapp of Hondo/Quihi, 68, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018. Born Nov. 24, 1949, in Billingham WA, he was the son of Jay and Mary Joyce Brassard Lapp. Former owner of a gift shop in California, he and his wife moved to the Quihi area in 2000. Local history intrigued him and he became a member of the Quihi-New Fountain Historical Society and the Medina County Museum board. He also served as museum administrator. Steve was an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Quihi and served on the church council. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary Lapp; and brother-in-law, Stephen Weirich. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Weirich Lapp; sisters, Susan (Jim) Disch of Bothell WA and Jana Alger of Everett WA; brothers-in-law, Wayne Weirich of Farmers Branch, Alfred Weirich of Spring Branch, Phillip Weirich and Randy Weirich of Quihi; and sister-in-law, Doris Cronin of Larkspur CO. Visitation will be Wednesday, Apr. 11, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Apr. 12, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Quihi. Interment will be at Quihi Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
